How to Make a Dieline Design in an Easy Way

This dieline design guide will teach you everything you need to know about creating dielines for packaging, whether it be folding cartons or corrugate boxes. We have even created sample dielines for you to download, so that you can get an idea of how it should be done.

A package dieline is a vector file created as a template to determine the size, folding configuration and artwork for a printed package.

You may be trying to determine what the cost of that package could be for your product and the printing companies you’ve contacted don’t want anything to do with you til you have a dieline to show them exactly what you are asking for. Sound familiar?

Well, don’t be taken in by a quick web search for dielines.

Sites like Pinterest are full of posted dielines for all sorts of creatively folded gift boxes and packages – but these aren’t going to be much help when it comes to getting an accurate quote for your own product packaging. And you don’t acutally need to.

If you are not a professional designer or don’t want to bother to hire one, then you come to the right place. Designing a Dieline for your product is not a mission impossible even though you don’t know how to use those skill-driven designing softwares like AI, or Indesign. Why? Because we have developed an easy-to-use dieline design tool called Pacdora with 3D rendering and tens of thousands of templates for you to choose from. How to use it?

Let’s get started.

First, choose your ideal packaging dielines model. You can either search for your product like cosmetics or chocolate bars or just simply find one from our category.

Then select the temple you want. Here we use a box dieline as a example.

Then you can edit the parameter for your specific needs.

No idea how it would look?

Click Design Online and then check the 3D view.

The good thing with Pacdora is that you can always have a clear view of the dieline you design and you don’t have to worry about if anything goes wrong when setting all the parameters. Then check the 3D view of your packaging.

Now here comes the best part. You can upload the images and put them onto the box.

Then you are done here!

Lastly, download the dieline you deign. You can choose all kinds of format. PDF, AI, DXF
